About ANTOINETTE ANDERSON
Antoinette Anderson has been a Correction Officer for fourteen years, having started her career in 2006 as a Correction Officer at Anna M. Kross Center. At AMKC she worked in Quad Lower 6 & 8 for eight years, in the Administrative Segregation and Bing Housing Area.
Antoinette is committed to building her education and expertise. She graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. In 2015, she received her second Bachelor of Arts, in Criminology with a minor in Correctional Studies, also from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. In 2018 she received an Advanced Certification in Criminal Investigations, and in 2020 she received an Advanced Certification in Victimology, both from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She is currently enrolled in the Graduate program for Criminal Justice, and is also working towards an Advanced Certificate in Police Studies.
From 2014 through 2019 Antoinette served as a board member of the New York City Correction Guardians Association. She started out as a Second Business Manager assisting Sean Jones, and ended her turn as Treasurer in 2019.
In 2016, Antoinette was elected to be a COBA delegate for AMKC, until being elected as the Corresponding Secretary in 2020. During this time, she has assisted many officers in various traumatic situations, from visiting officers while they have been sick in the hospital, to sitting with officers while they were arrested and arraigned in court. She has also conducted hearings with Administrative Deputy Wardens, advocated for officers to receive the days off not being granted to them, enforced rules and regulations to be followed properly, and pushed to reduce discipline for minor infractions.
